Here’s hoping you’ve all had
an exciting year so far.
2010 has been really fun for
me – promoting both Starlet Rivalry and Double Take means I
get to travel around a lot and meet really interesting (and
enthusiastic) people. And, of course, I have been penning my
third book in the background. I am really excited about this
one – it will be released in 2011 and I will reveal more
details about it very soon…!
Creating characters and
plotlines that readers tell me they have enjoyed is hugely
rewarding and makes all the hard work worthwhile. It’s also
a thrill to see the characters finally come to life,
courtesy of Megan Davidson’s stunning illustrations!
So far this year, I have been
very busy visiting schools, colleges, reading groups and
libraries across the UK with my Bollywood Series Books Tour.
I find meeting readers is just fab - I enjoy talking about
how I created the books and answering all your questions at
the end of the sessions is also very interesting. It's
always good to see there are a lot of budding writers out
there!
So far this year, I have had
the pleasure of visiting students in the London boroughs of
Uxbridge and Hounslow as well as schools and libraries in
Bristol, Manchester, Hertfordshire, Birmingham, Darlington,
Essex, Kirklees and Dorset. The highlight of my visit is
nearly always the dance workshop at the end of my talk… it’s
a lot of fun and gives everyone a real taste of Bollywood.
Even those of you who claim to have two left feet are
seasoned pro’s by the end of it.
